A BIT ABOUT US
Our Mission
The Liberty High School chapter of The Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children is dedicated to providing access to healthcare for low-resource and medically underserved families around the world
Chapters are a vital component to fulfilling FIMRC’s mission as it is made up of individuals committed to serving as FIMRC’s voice in their region. The four pillars that make up chapters’ support of FIMRC’s mission are the following:
ADVOCATE
One of the key things we do as a chapter is to promote FIMRC’s mission and raise awareness of global health in our community. This may include having discussion panels with global health experts and learning about challenges currently faced at FIMRC sites around the world.
SERVE
FIMRC chapter members make an impact on their local community and on the global community through their volunteer work. Over the course of the year, we may do local volunteer work such as hosting a donation drive, sending encouragement letters to children in hospitals, etc. We will also have the opportunity to work on a volunteer project that directly benefits FIMRC sites through the virtual chapter trip we can do anytime during the year in which we learn about global health challenges and current program operations through readings, videos, and discussions with site staff.
FUNDRAISE
FIMRC’s Adopt-a-Site program gives chapters the opportunity to fundraise money and make a direct impact on communities that FIMRC serves. We may do activities such as a Bingo night or Dare fundraiser to help raise money for FIMRC. We will also have to fundraise for participation to attend the Virtual Chapter Retreat if we’d like to.
